With a primary residence roughly one hour north of Manhattan, this hard-working, hard-playing client wanted a place in the city they could also call home on the weekend. They dreamt of a space with a modern, but laid-back ambiance. So, in mixing various fabrics, textiles and artwork, along with splashes of color, we happily achieved the design and feel the client was looking for.
This charming abode was a gut renovation that represented one of the great challenges Outline Studios loves to undertake. Cerused oak panels line the walls of the home, letting the classic architecture shine without muddling the accenting modern elements. The client’s collection of vintage comic books is thoughtfully displayed alongside other works of fine art.
Originally a cookie-cutter, uninspired white box of a space, this apartment was clad with custom, deep-stained wood paneling, enriching the stunning views and refusing to cancel out the beautiful natural light that floods each room. The home’s modern, clean lines generate a masculine undercurrent throughout, but its luxurious fabrics and stunning art make the apartment both extremely comfortable and unique.
This client, who talked of their hectic daily schedule, came to Outline Studios hoping to develop a space that is the just the right mix of original, subtle, and relaxing. With attention to texture and the dutiful use of a variety of materials, the result is an apartment that is lush, grand, comfortable and uniquely stylish.
Built from the ground up, we tailored this brilliant new home to meet our client’s every need. The dining space is fit for an average of 12 guests, and we made sure the client’s collection of art and sculptures was dazzlingly displayed. The welcoming foyer is highlighted by a curiously modern chandelier, while the custom beadboard ceilings and marble-clad bathrooms make this house a marvelous case study in luxury, style, comfort and coziness.
This beautiful cottage was completely gutted with an additional wing added to create a vast living and entertaining space with a sizable stone fireplace serving as a most eye-pleasing centerpiece. Our client requested a calm, quiet pallet, and to oblige we incorporated a variety of wood types, as well as shades of beige, brown and cream to create this high-minded weekend home.
Nestled just next to the water in the historic Lake George getaway region, this stunning house required a full gut renovation. Today, an oak staircase runs through the middle of the home, highlighting the double height ceilings and rich wood beams. A locally sourced stone fireplace grounds the living room, while the custom millwork in the kitchen, as well as the vanities, were designed to retain the Adirondack look, but with a modern twist.
